It draws from the world's largest and most diverse music catalog to create custom music premiums, incentives, retail compilations, and mail order collections. To provide the products and services it offers, UMSM works with the following labels: Def Jam, Geffen, Hip-O Select, Interscope, Island, Lost Highway, MCA Nashville, Mercury Nashville, Motown, and Verve.
these "Special Market" or "Custom Market" type labels that major record companies use are mainly for music content repackaged for the special needs of their clients or for the record companies' own marketing purposes, and are often though not always co-branded with clients' brands to which the music is licensed.
